About the client
YOKE Network is an Influence Marketing Agency that came up with the idea of an app with two simultaneous goals:
- To help you and your product reach the right influencers that will enhance your commercial activities in social media.
- To help influencers find great products they could advertise and get paid for doing so.
The app became an effective tool to match influencers with their advertising possibilities.
But what can better describe it if not the results?
"Navigating the world of Influencer marketing is very tricky but Yoke nails it. We've managed to access some of the biggest names in the UK on a performance basis - this is something that has been game changing for our marketing strategy and performance.”
Delivery
YOKE Network team had their app working already on an older version of React Native, and after a successful launch, they wanted to upgrade the code to the newest version and give it a performance and user experience boost.
One of the most important points was to keep the app in React Native, as they wanted to avoid building two separate apps for iOS and Android and keep it all in one codebase.
Beside that, they also wanted to give it a new look and feel, as they had new ideas to implement in the app.
This is why we were also asked to build and add a few more functionalities.
Our plan for the whole app update was to:
Update React Native To The Latest Version
Boost the App Performance
Enhance User Experience With New Design
Add New Features and Functionalities

Step 1 Update React Native
At the beginning the app was on React Native 0.40, so we had to start from the ground up.
We upgraded the code to the newest version of React Native (and other dependencies).
Working with the code is always fun for our senior developer Jakub.
Step 2 Improve The App Performance
The next step (also executed by Jakub) was code refactoring, to match it with the latest standards. This step was quite a challenge, so we decided to divide the code into smaller pieces.
Thanks to that we were not only able to improve the app performance significantly, but also make the app ready for further improvements and scalability.
Step 3 Rebuild UX/UI
After Receiving new look and feel designs from YOKE, two of our React Native developers - Daniel and Tom - have been working on the entire app interface rebuild to implement them.
Designs were also prepared with further app scalability and improvements in minds, and that led to the final step.
Step 4 Add New Functionalities
As a last step, we’ve built and added a few new functionalities, for example:
- Ability to connect with different Social Media accounts
- Advertising campaigns
- Registration and security improvements
Outcome
After all the improvements from the source code, through designs into scaling the app with new functionalities, we’ve arrived with the brand new product ready to be used by the first influencers and social media marketers.
